Inverness Openarts: Who we are & what we do
Inverness Openarts creates welcoming, accessible spaces where people can make art, connect with others and experience the benefits of creativity for their wellbeing. We work to remove financial, social and health-related barriers to taking part, and support referrals and signposting from local health, social care and community organisations. No art experience is needed — just come as you are!
What we currently offer
-
Weekly community drop-in sessions at Inverness Creative Academy (see current timetable below)
-
Fortnightly creative sessions at New Craigs Psychiatric Hospital
-
Outreach sessions with rural communities across the Highlands, with Mikeysline's 'Hive on the Road'
-
Children’s creative sessions at selected times throughout the year. These are ticketed and funds support our charitable activity.

Our Funders and Partners
Inverness Openarts is currently supported through the Highland Third Sector Interface Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Collaborative Fund. We are incredibly grateful to have secured funding until March 2028. We work in partnership with NHS Highland / New Craigs, Mikeysline and Arts in Nature to widen access to creativity, strengthen referral and signposting routes, and bring supportive arts activity into community and wellbeing settings across the Highlands.
